Victor Wembanyama gets 9 points in Spurs NBA Summer League debut.

On Friday night, Victor Wembanyama's journey in the National Basketball Association got off to a rather sluggish beginning.

In his debut Summer League game, Wembanyama played in front of a sold-out crowd at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. He had a total of nine points, eight rebounds

five blocks in that contest. During the San Antonio Spurs' 76-68 victory against the Charlotte Hornets, Wembanyama had a field goal percentage of about 15%, shooting only 2 of 13.

Last month, at the NBA Draft, the San Antonio Spurs made Wembanyama their official selection with the first overall choice. The almost 7-foot-4 big has been getting a lot of attention in France,

 where he is being hailed as the finest NBA prospect since LeBron James and is turning heads. He is the first player ever from France to be selected first overall in any draft, 

he is the first European player since 2006 to be selected first overall in a selection without having played collegiate basketball in the United States. 

After his most recent season in the French LNB Pro A league, in which he led the league in points, rebounds, and blocks while also being named the league's Most Valuable Player and guiding his club to the championship game,

Wembanyama had a little trouble in Las Vegas before Friday's game even started, and that was before the opening tip. A member of his security team challenged pop diva Britney Spears on Wednesday,
